“We tripled the sound for the truck pull,” enthused Nicolas Lachance of the Cookshire Fair’s organizing committee. Yes, the pulls are already noisy, but this year the action will be re-transmitted live on a giant 10-by-6-foot screen and a more powerful sound system. The effect will be to give spectators a sensation of proximity with the mechanical engines, in case the stands with 1,500 places do not meet the demand. The rest of the time, the system will also serve to re-transmit the performances and the ambiance of the dance and music shows. The audiovisual equipment will be operated by the Événements illimités de Sherbrooke company, which has extensive experience with festivals, beginning with the Ayer’s Cliff rodeo.
