Bury is getting ready for a grand celebration of Canada Day on Friday, June 30, and Saturday, July 1st. It will surely delight all citizens and even visitors who come to enjoy it!
Regular entrance tickets are $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday, but a pass for both days can be purchased for $20.
On Friday at 5 p.m., the selection of winners of the “Decorate Your House” contest will be announced, and at 6 p.m. the Talent Competition will be presented. Then from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., music and dance with the Duo Mike and Kylie will stir the hearts of participants.
On Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Armory, the Bury Historical Society will present its long-awaited Strawberry Shortcake activity, alongside the sale of local products and crafts. At noon, the big Canada Day parade is not to be missed. This will be followed immediately by face painting for children, and family activities including acrobatic trampolining, music and dancing in Memorial Park. At 1 p.m. Gymkhana events, and at 1:30 p.m., the Kids Olympics are sure to interest the younger generation, featuring high and long jumps (ages 6-13), races (ages 2-18 and older). From 1 to 6 p.m., the Movin’on orchestra will provide the music to get festival-goers dancing. Then, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., the group Slightly Haggard will take over. To close the party, the fireworks at 10 p.m. on Saturday promise a lot of emotions; they are described as extraordinary ! The two days of Canada Day in Bury are an appointment not to be missed!
