Old beauties at the 2023 parade.
Melissa Chapman has taken on the responsibility of organizing Canada Day in Bury again this year. It’s been a true tradition in Bury for decades… But usually, in the past, she had the help of a dynamic accomplice. Melissa feels alone more often, in a less comfortable position to undertake the efforts required by this project.
Or course, she wants the festivities program not to suffer too many lacks due to a dearth of manpower. However, next year it may be a different story.
So everyone in the Bury area and beyond is invited to the Canada Day festivities on Saturday, June 29, only – there will be no second day this year. Take note, Saturday, June 29!
Starting at noon on Saturday, a big parade is planned, like every year, on the rue Principale de Bury.
“At 1 p.m., inflatable games in the Memorial Park, face painting for children, the trampoline, an exhibition of various machines, and a mini farm will entertain young and young at heart. At 1:30 p.m., the Olympics for children and music under the big top, with dancing, for adults, will get underway,” said Ms. Chapman.
“From 1 to 4 p.m., a first music group will provide entertainment, the group Movin’ On. From 4 to 6 p.m., the talent competition, and from 6 to 9 p.m., the popular Winslow Dancers will take over. From 9 p.m. to midnight, it will be the turn of the music group Smokin’ Whiskey. At 10 p.m. the fireworks will begin. Important: The site closes at midnight.
“It will be urgent that we have more volunteers for the future of Canada Day festivities, starting with preparations for next year. Don’t hesitate to make yourself known and join us!” said the 2024 manager, Melissa Chapman, for the Bury Athletic Association, the organization promoting the annual Canada Day.
