On February 28, the Alexander Galt Senior Girls Basketball Team, coached by Rod Gilpin, won the Quebec Secondary Schools Sports Association Provincial Tournament, held at Centennial Regional High School in Greenfield Park.

This only the third time Galt took the championship in the last 20 years.

Six of the eleven players for Galt live in the Haut Saint-François: Chloe LaBrie Aulis of Cookshire and Sawyerville, Lily-Raeven Barter of Cookshire (and Ayer’s Cliff), Erika Lassenba of Birchton, Emma Mayfield of Johnville (and Lennoxville), and Vanessa Rothney of Sawyerville.
