A number of citizens came together with members of the Canadian Legion.
Nearly 150 citizens attended the Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Sawyerville Cenotaph on November 11. Students from Sawyerville Elementary School were also on hand to attend the commemorations and lay crosses in honour of the soldiers.
In the Haut-Saint-François, different municipalities paid homage to veterans in various ceremonies. The municipalities of Scotstown and Bury did so in advance, on November 6. A wreath was laid at the Cenotaph in Bury for the 100,000 British Home Children. In addition to Sawyerville, November 11th ceremonies were carried out in the borough of Cookshire, in Newport and in Saint-Isidore-de-Clifton. Weedon paid homage to its veterans on November 13, and East Angus on November 14.
